I’ve recently been photographing or scanning some of my older work that wasn’t originally a digital file. Some of this work has been included in my graduate school applications. I would love to show some of it off, as it’s all work that is very important and meaningful to me. This piece I made for the UVU Student Art Show which was held at the Woodbury Museum back in April 2011. These [...]

Here is the second wallpaper for the series of downloads. This is St Peters Basilica, located in the Vatican in the heart of Rome. This square is usually swarmed with people, but this long exposure made them disappear. You can find more images from this blog post: Rome on Film. You can download this wallpaper in the following sizes (Please right-click on the following links and click “Save Link As”): 1024×768 1280×768 [...]

Are you ready for this!? Rome was my original first destination, after which I spent time in many other places over the course of 4 more weeks. I eventually rounded my way back to Rome as my final destination. Film was my more sacred medium compared to digital, so I was excited to see my negatives after I got home! These are all images of Rome captured on different films with different [...]

So, Monday was my final day in Rome with my Study Abroad group. I’ll be returning in a couple weeks, but for now… goodbye Rome. We spent our last day visiting more churches, and finally the inside of St Peters basilica. This place is so amazing, it’s so big! Plus, it’s incredible how larger than life the sculptures, and artwork is. The engineering feat and architectural designs of Bernini and Michelangelo boggle [...]

Rome has way more to it than just beautiful architecture, art, and a rich history. The city continues to grow and progress around this heritage Part of what I’ve wanted to capture is the clash between the past, its modern lifestyle, plus the dependency on tourism. The later two were the biggest shock for me when I got to Rome… the crazy drivers, and the floods of tourists. They almost took the [...]

Rome is so full of a rich history. I’ve not been here for just over a weeks time, and I’m noticing that it’s not enough. The history here, the artists, the buildings, the eras… they’ve all hit me much more differently that I thought they would! We all owe a great deal of how our society currently runs to the Romans. I’ve been thrilled to tour multiple churches, museums, and plazas. From [...]

I’m in Italy with a group of crazy study abroad students. We’re having a great time together learning about art history through Italy and the Roman Catholic Church. We spend a lot of time together walking, running, eating, and laughing. There are twenty-two of us together, here are a few of my group! I hope these pictures show how much fun we’re having together! This is Steve, and he is our director. [...]

I have been walking around Rome. Some of it has been as a group with my class, and some of it has been to intentionally get lost. We did get lost, but we quickly found our way back home after a few miles of wandering. The classic architecture with the modern lifestyle is a quite interesting combination. I almost prefer the pure classicism and customs. Rome has done a wonderful job at [...]

I flew all night and got into Rome this morning! Besides the miserable flight (I’m basically going on about no sleep in the last 48 hours)… I’m loving where I’m at right now! The gelato (Italian ice cream) is amazing, plus the rest of the food. There’s plenty of great cars, fast drivers, and thrill. The Hotel Pacific is fantastic, and they have been very accommodating. So, after a short nap we [...]
